| Jackie Leon
Flatt, Sr., age 70, of Portland, TN, passed away
Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Sumner Regional Medical Center,
Gallatin, Sumner, TN. He was born September 4, 1939 in Cross
Plains, Robertson, TN. He is the son of Alton Ray and Lena (Bush)
Flatt, both deceased. He was a painter. He served in the U.S.
Army. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Pitt) Flatt of Portland,
TN; sons, Jackie Leon (Cheryl) Flatt, Jr. and Rodney Lynn Flatt,
both of Portland, TN; brother, Bobby (Marie) Flatt of Cross
Plains, TN, 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitations
are Friday, March 5, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday
after 10:00 a.m., and Sunday after 8:00 a.m. at the Portland
Funeral Chapel. Religious service is Sunday, March 7, 2010, at
2:00 p.m. at Portland Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Flatt
officiating. Internment is at Hopewell Cemetery, Orlinda, TN. |

Denton, Sr., age 87, of Portland, TN, passed away
Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Highland Manor Nursing Home,
Portland, Sumner, TN. He was born April 17, 1922 in Gainsboro,
Jackson, TN. He is the son of Dewell D. and Sally (McCoin) Denton,
both deceased. He was married to his wife of 67 years, Bonnie (Reecer)
Denton.
He was retired from Ford Motor Glass. He served in the U.S. Army
in World War II from 1942 - 1946 in the Philippines. He is
survived by his wife, Bonnie Denton of Portland, TN; daughter,
Carolyn Denton King of Nashville, TN; sons, Robert E. (Shelby)
Denton, Jr. of Portland, TN and Gerald (Maxine) Denton of
Franklin, KY; brother, Gordon W. (Mary) Denton of Ft. Wayne, IN; 6
grandchildren - Angella (Austin) Stewart, Jeff Austin, Robin
Denton Meguier, Catrina Denton Brown, Jason and Annette Denton; 4
step grandchildren - Lynn and Earl Seibert, Salita Hallon and
Tracy Donato; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and
several nieces and nephews. Visitations are Friday, March 5, 2010,
from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday after 8:00 a.m. at the
Portland Funeral Chapel. Religious service is at 2:00 p.m.,
Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Portland Funeral Chapel, Portland, TN
with Bro. James Parker officiating. Internment is at Mt.
Moriah Cemetery, Portland, TN. |
